EMI Thailand issued a Cliff Richard hits CD when he visited the country in March 2003, and took the opportunity to put out this Shadows collection as well. Its title (and all the red pervading the artwork) was presumably inspired by The Beatles “1” from EMI UK, which was of course distributed to all corners of the globe, and offered according to its liner notes “27 #1 singles =1”. The Thai 25 cannot match that, and there is no handsome booklet, just a scrappy front insert, but many of the perennial favourites are there, including some with quaint titles: Theme For Deer Hunger, Thunderbird Theme, Parisiene Walkaway. Still, the masters used are fine, and it is nice to have a different Far Eastern CD product to complement the welter of releases from Japan.
